- 15 ml dark soy sauce (adds depth to flavors)
- 60 ml water (for consistency)
- 30 ml Marmite (key flavor ingredient)
- 60 ml honey (balances savoriness)
- 30 ml mirin (enhances flavor profile)
Instructions
- Start by dunking the chicken strips in the whisked egg whites, ensuring each piece is well coated.
- Next, roll the egg-coated chicken in the corn flour until it’s evenly covered.
- In a deep frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat.
- Carefully add the coated chicken strips to the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
- Once fried, remove the chicken pieces from the heat and drain them on a kitchen towel.
- In a clean pan over medium heat, combine dark soy sauce, water, Marmite, honey, and mirin. Stir until dissolved and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
