Description
This stovetop toffee sauce comes together in under 5 minutes. It’s easier than making caramel sauce, and with a deep buttery flavor it tastes even better!
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup (105g) packed brown sugar (light or dark)
- ¼ cup (57g) butter (salted or unsalted) (cut into cubes)
- ⅓ cup (80ml) heavy cream
- 1–3 pinches of salt (based on if you used salted butter and how salty-sweet you want it)
- ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, stirring occasionally, bring brown sugar, butter, cream, and salt to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for two minutes, until the brown sugar is dissolved.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
- Allow the sauce to cool; it will thicken as it cools.
