Description
A quick and flavorful shrimp dish cooked in rich oyster sauce, perfect for busy nights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, deveined (fresh or thawed, patted dry)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced (fresh)
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated (fresh, adjust to taste)
- 4 tablespoons oyster sauce (the star ingredient)
- 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce (for balance)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (adds nutty flavor)
- 2 tablespoons green onions, sliced (for freshness)
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (for texture)
- 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (for color and crunch)
- 1 cup steamed vegetables (such as broccoli or snap peas)
Instructions
- Start by rinsing the shrimp under cold water. Pat them dry with paper towels to achieve a lovely sear when cooking.
- In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Add the deveined shrimp to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the oyster sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil until well combined.
- Pour the sauce over the cooked shrimp. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Serve warm over rice or steamed vegetables.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of ginger to suit your taste.
- Serve with rice or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
