Description
Transform store-bought crescent rolls into delightful cinnamon sugar chocolate chip crescents. These flaky pastries are ready in just 13 minutes, perfect for a quick and special breakfast or brunch treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces refrigerated crescent rolls (8 crescents)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Gently open the can of crescent rolls and unroll them. Separate the dough into 8 triangles.
- In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
- Sprinkle about half a teaspoon of the cinnamon-sugar mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle.
- Place 1 tablespoon of mini chocolate chips on top of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on each triangle and gently press them into the dough.
- Starting from the wide end, roll up each triangle towards the pointed end to form a crescent shape. Pinch the seams to seal.
- Arrange the chocolate crescents on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between them.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crescents are puffed up and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes. If desired, dust lightly with powdered sugar.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Work with cold crescent dough for best flakiness.
- Evenly distribute chocolate chips for consistent flavor in every bite.
- Do not overfill the crescents to prevent leakage.
- Pinch seams firmly to seal.
- Monitor baking time closely to avoid overbaking.
- Best enjoyed warm.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat briefly in the oven.
