Delicious Cheddar Jalapeño Cornbread Waffles for Your Brunch


Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños
  • 2 tablespoons honey (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cooking spray or melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease it with cooking spray or melted butter.
  2. Whisk together the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients by whisking the buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and optional honey in a separate bowl.
  4. Mix the wet and dry ingredients gently until just combined, then fold in the cheddar cheese and jalapeños.
  5. Pour about 1/2 to 2/3 cup of batter onto your preheated waffle iron and cook for 4–5 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Serve hot, topped with butter, sour cream, honey, or salsa.
