Description
A moist and sweet Southern-style cornbread with a delicious honey butter glaze, perfect as a side dish or snack.
Ingredients

- 2 cups yellow cornmeal
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 can creamed corn (15 oz)
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 2/3 cup vegetable oil
- 4 tbsp honey
- 4 tbsp butter
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, melt butter and slowly add honey. Mix and remove from heat.
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease cast iron skillet or baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In separate bowl, mix milk, creamed corn, oil, and eggs until combined.
- Make a well in dry ingredients, pour in wet mixture, and stir until blended.
- Pour into greased 13×9 pan and bake 30-35 minutes.
- After 20 minutes, brush with honey butter and continue baking.
- Cornbread is done when wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Rest until cool before serving. Serve with extra honey butter.
